Join our Italian American scholar, Samantha Pinto, for a 6 week journey exploring the unique intersection of Italian American culture and mental health, with a special focus on DBT Skills. Using the frame of Italian American/Italian Diaspora Studies, each week will integrate cultural values and traditions to explore the 4 DBT skills modules of mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. While the content and curriculum of this series is oriented towards Italian American culture, this series is open to anyone interested. Individuals, mental health clinicians, researchers, and students are all encouraged to join!
