The New Road School of Ocean County offers a positive learning environment that builds self-esteem and encourages individual achievement. A custom classroom model is utilized to provide individualized academic programming for each student. Small class sizes with a low student-to-teacher ratio, along with a flexible curriculum with interactive instruction, help to ensure success for each student. Computer-based instruction as well as multisensory approaches are offered to address a variety of learning styles.
Individual Counseling, Social Skills groups, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and consultations with a Behavior Therapist are available related services provided in accordance with each student's IEP.
Application to New Road School of Ocean County is made through the student's home school district Child Study Team. Students should have a classification that may include one of the following: Other Health Impaired, Autistic, Multiple Disabilities, Cognitive Impairment, Behavior Disabilities.
