Barnegat Township Special Needs Resources

Funding for these programs is provided in part through the Recreational Opportunities for Individuals with Disabilities Grant from the NJ Department of Community Affairs. The purpose of this grant is to provide funding for individualized, inclusive recreational programming for individuals with disabilities.

Meadowedge Social Club “A Place Where Everyone Fits In”
is located at 550 E Bay Ave. Barnegat. Meadowedge is an inclusive Social Club offering encouragement, experiences, and exposure to new opportunities for people aged 14 & up with special needs. A place for members and families to build friendships, learn, and interact with each other. It offers games, trips, and fun 4 nights/week, Monday-Thursday.

Discovery Basketball
This free program for individuals with special needs was offered Fridays, Sept. 16- Nov. 4 at the Collins Elementary School, Barnegat Blvd. The program is open to individuals ages 5-18. Caregivers MUST stay with their children during the program. Please print out the registration form and bring it to the recreation center prior to the first session. If you can not come in, please fax to 698-1302 or email barnegatspecialneedsrec@gmail.com. Registration forms are also accepted in person each Friday night.

Barnegat Little League Challenger Baseball, Ages 5-21
Games will be played Friday nights (SPRING of 2020) at the Barnegat Little League Sports Complex, 1001 Barnegat Blvd. N All players must register online at www.barnegatlittleleague.com under online forms

Anyone interested in coaching must download and return coaching forms. All applicants will be required to consent to a background check. Please email barnegatlittleleague@comcast.net or Meredith at barnegatspecialneedsrec@gmail.com for more information on this program.
