Interfaith Family Services of Ocean County is a non-profit, interfaith ministry committed to providing shelter, meals, and assistance to homeless families. Our well-trained volunteers reach out with compassion and acceptance, providing help, hope, and a safe haven for our guests while they seek permanent employment and affordable housing. We increase community awareness and advocate responsible solutions to homelessness.
- We provide our guest families with 24-hour shelter.
- Area churches and synagogues provide overnight accommodation on their premises, as well as a place for dinner and breakfast.
- Network guests often form valuable and beneficial friendships with congregation members and have discovered community resources, employment leads, and housing opportunities through interactions with volunteers.
- During the day, guests work with staff to set priorities and take the steps necessary to gain self-sufficiency.
- In addition to shelter, IHN provides guest families with comprehensive case management, education, and training in life skills, parenting, financial management, counseling, and other services as needed.
- Services are tailored to the family's individual needs.
- IHN often continues to provide services to families after they have left the program.
