Project TEACH

DCF Ocean Regional Campus provides educational opportunities for a variety of students seeking their high school diploma.  Project TEACH is a transitional program for pregnant and parenting teens.  This program focuses on academic requirements along with helping to build the skills to transition into the community after high school.  As part of their educational experience, students take parenting class which focuses on the development of young children, and the skills required to be a successful parent.  Our TEC program focuses any student who may be having academic hurdles.  These hurdles can include chronic absenteeism, bullying, school anxiety etc.   With smaller class sizes, and a community environment, we have a high success rate with our students. Both the TEC and Project TEACH programs meet the graduation requirements deemed necessary by the student’s home high school.  The students earn a high school diploma from their home high schools while attending class on our campus. The Project TEACH program has a licensed on-site daycare for infants and toddlers, free of charge to the students.   We work closely with our students as they get closer to graduation on a transition plan and set them up for future success, whether that be helping them apply for a job and mock interviews or touring a local community college with them.
