Homes Now, Inc.

Homes Now, Inc., established in 1997, is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit community development corporation organized and incorporated in 1997 for the purpose of providing affordable housing. Since its incorporation, three additional corporations have been formed:

  • Homes Now Chambers Bridge Project
  • Dottie’s House
  • Friends of Dottie’s House

Homes Now has built more than 200 deed-restricted affordable housing units resulting in almost 300 COAH (Council on Affordable Housing) credits. Some of these deed-restricted units include the following:

  • 20 scattered-site single-family detached Homes (20 COAH credits)
  • 3 four-bedroom group homes for developmentally disabled individuals (24 COAH credits)
  • a 17 apartment facility for women and children survivors of domestic violence (34 COAH credits)
  • a 184 low-income inclusionary senior apartment complex with eight apartments set aside to house developmentally disabled individuals (208 COAH credits).

Homes Now, Inc. was created by Carol A. Wolfe to provide assistance to municipalities in all stages of affordable housing compliance including planning, construction, monitoring, and reporting. Through all of our programs, we have raised over $30 million in funding through grants.

What is Affordable Housing?
Affordable housing is defined as residential units that have been restricted for households whose total gross annual income is less than 80% of the median income level.

Am I Eligible for Affordable Housing?
You must complete an application in order to determine your eligibility and whether you fall into the low or moderate-income category. The application requests all of your basic information and requires you to supply our office with copies of various documents relating to your income, assets, checking and savings accounts, and any interest-bearing accounts. The application also requires a current credit report.
