Hearts of Mercy's Core Services:

- One-on-one Tutoring and Mentoring Program

- Art Program

- Summer Camp Program

- Various indoor and outdoor enrichment activities throughout the year

Services are free to income-eligible under-resourced children in grades K-8, and families in the Barnegat-Manahawkin area and vicinity.

Hearts of Mercy (HoM) maintains a core, one-on-one tutoring and mentoring program throughout the school year. Powered by skilled, caring volunteers, these services are provided at HoM's safe, homey, well-equipped Manahawkin office. Sessions take place after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Free snacks are provided.

HoM's Art Program, proves 8 consecutive weeks of hands-on arts projects and activities, also led by our volunteers.

HoM's "official" Summer Camp Program was launched in 2022. The camp session provides day-long activities over a period of 5 consecutive weekdays. Mornings are devoted to sports and other enriching outdoor activities, followed by a free lunch period, and concluding with an afternoon of fun and enriching indoor activities. These include arts and crafts, reading, music, dance, and special guests from the community, leading the children through learning activities.

HoM also provides athletic, cultural, and recreational programming, under the supervision of our caring volunteers, inclusively within the broader community. Activities like sports, swimming, dancing, and cultural and recreational outings are provided to our children to help elevate them to their fullest, well-rounded potential.

HoM has a small van and in some instances can provide transportation to children in our programs. Limited assistance is also available to families on a case-by-case basis, as resources permit.

Online applications for tutoring and mentoring and art program services can be found on HoM's website. A summer camp application is in progress - in the meantime, please call for information.

Inquiries from social and children's community service providers and others interested in supporting the work of HoM are welcome . HoM is always interested in cross-referrals, collaborations, partnerships, volunteers and new friends.
