This three-day training will provide participants with the understanding of the 11 functions of I&RS and practice cases to assess necessary accommodations for I&RS or 504. Through the cases reviewed, problems will be identified and strategies for intervention will be developed to measure outcomes successfully.

Staff need to educate themselves on the danger today's children face from this constantly connected world and danger areas such as trends, sites and apps, teens and social media and more. Participants will learn techniques for communicating about technology dangers, what to do if you have an incident - school response.

In this training, participants are taught to what to look for, what to say, what to do and how to refer students for help. In addition to the content material, More Than Sad, curriculum developed by AFSP will be offered. This program complies with the requirements for teacher education on suicide prevention required in New Jersey.

It will provide comprehensive information related to how the rise in substance use disorder is impacting our schools and communities.
