This event has already occurred!

The goal of iCan Swim is to teach individuals with disabilities the foundation for safely enjoying aquatic environments and promoting as much independent movement in the water as possible. The iCan Swim program is not aquatic therapy, rather a program to teach and encourage enjoyment of the water as a leisure recreational activity.

Here are a few things you should know about iCan Swim:

ALL ABILITIES WELCOME! We are able to accept wheelchair users and those with limited mobility.

iCan Swim will also be training up to 4 Swim Instructors as Adaptive Aquatics Instructors. These instructors will be able to offer Adaptive Aquatics Lessons at I Am Fitness and perhaps other local pools. So, learning to swim can continue after iCan Swim!

Sessions are short (45 min for the little ones and 60 minutes for older kids and adults), and scheduled in age groups, so it is important to register for the session corresponding to your child's age. For most sessions you'll have a choice of two sessions. We can adapt the sessions depending on the ages of the swimmers who register.

You will receive a confirmation that you've registered, but not a confirmation of your time slot until we have arranged the swimmers according to age.

Your swimmer will be partnered with at least one volunteer instead of two. Less people in the pool!
