NJCA Racial and Cultural Empathy (RACE) Training is a FREE 4 day virtual training event. Understanding the Impact of Race and Culture on Working with Victims of Child Abuse.
10-hours of didactic training, held over four (4) dates to help mental health professionals work effectively with children and families from diverse racial and cultural backgrounds who have been impacted by interpersonal trauma. Information will be presented about the historical, contextual, and personal factors that create risk of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and the consequences of such experiences. In addition, there will be information provided about the ways in which systems and providers often practice that creates barriers to effective provision of services resulting in racial differences in outcomes.
Dates include: 9/20, 10/18, 11/15, 12/13 from 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM.
