According to the latest statistics from the Alzheimer’s Association, 1 in 3 seniors suffer from Alzheimer's or related dementia. Therefore, as long-term healthcare professionals, it becomes inevitable that we will find that our clients, patients, and/or residents are suffering from some form or level of cognitive impairment. It is important to understand the legal implications of cognitive impairment on decision making before designating an agent under a Health Care and General Durable Power of Attorney.
