Rhythm Works Special Needs Dance Program

Our studio Evolution Dance & Performing Arts Academy is located at 249 Chambersbridge Rd in Brick, NJ. We take pride in teaching the Art of dance in many different genres through our teachers who love dance and love bringing their talents to both our recreational students as well as our Competitive Team. We offer classes from pre-school through adult. Our Director, Alicia Ceraldi has twin boys with Autism, one of her sons is non-verbal. She always felt there is a lack of opportunity for this community to experience the benefits of dance. We set out to learn as much as we could so we could offer purposeful dance classes that would benefit the students far outside the studio and we wanted to expand our program for people with special needs and individual learning differences.

During the summer of 2017, Alicia and one of our teachers, Gianna Caporrimo-Bisbal ,who has been involved with being a Teachers Aid at Brick High Schools Special Needs Program ( West Wing), became certified instructors through Rhythm Works Integrative Dance. The purpose of such a comprehensive program was to provide our teachers with the tools and education necessary to effectively make a difference in their student’s lives. Emerging research is showing that movement, music, and rhythm, when combined, light up the brain in ways that create new neuropathways. Dance classes are specifically designed to help support your child’s existing therapy goals!  Rhythm Works Integrative Dance is an inclusive class that focuses on skill development, self empowerment, and celebrating our differences.

Through exciting movement and rhythm lessons, children will work on:

Gross/Fine motor skills

Strength & flexibility

Social skills

Motor planning

Body control & awareness

Memory & recall skills

Receptive/expressive language and much, much more!

Dance is a powerful modality that offers an opportunity to build social, emotional, cognitive, and motor skills. Plus, it’s tons of fun!

We offer classes for ages pre-school-adult. Please see our flyer for  Summer Session Dates and times. Fall programs TBA shortly.

Parent, therapist, or sibling highly encouraged to participate as an assistive buddy for FREE!
